Lasha Bugadze (ლაშა ბუგაძე)
source: http://burusi.wordpress.com/literature/lasha-bugadze/

Lasha is an author of numerous novels and plays. “Bughadze focuses his critical and ironic attention on inter-generational relationships and describes situations in which people fall victim to their prejudices, rigid ideas or stereotypes.“ (http://gratzfeld.ch/pages/en/authors/
laschabughadse.php) His last work is "The Literature Express" (ლიტერატურული ექსპრესი) but he firstly drew attention with a scandalous story - "The First Russian" (პირველი რუსი). “Novel on Queen Tamar led to an uproar for its graphic portrayal of intimacy between the Georgian queen and her Russian husband” (http://rustaveli.tripod.com/lithistory.html), Yury Bogolyubsky – the prince of Novgorod. The story “outraged many conservatives and triggered a nationwide controversy, including heated discussions in the media, the Parliament of Georgia and the Patriarchate of the Georgian Orthodox Church.“(Spurling, A.: The Georgian Literary Scene, International Pen, PEN Bulletin of Selected Books 53-54, 2003) Author himself declares that he had been led by satanic forces during his work on this story and that is why the book starts in the end and readers are forced to read it in the wrong way.

I found a interview with award-winning Georgian playwright Lasha Bugadze about his new play ‘The President Has Come to See You’ – currently on at London’s Royal Court Theatre. He tells how war affects a people and its artists, among other things.

"Literárny expres" - Román o literatúre a spisovateľoch - presnejšie, neznámych a podpriemerných autoroch, cestujúcich spolu. Literárna asociácia pozvala spisovateľov rôznych národností na seminár a príbeh sleduje ich cestu vlakom naprieč Európou v literárnom exprese - vlaku špeciálne vypravenom na seminár. Román opisuje egocentrizmus autorov a ich neschopnosť medzi sebou komunikovať.
